Alexandria Campus Hispanic Heritage Events

The Alexandria Campus International Studies Committee proudly presents Hispanic Heritage Month events. All events are free and open to everyone. All events will take place on the Alexandria Campus in the Bisdorf Building (AA) located 3001 North Beauregard Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22311-5097. Special thanks for the funding of these events by the Alexandria Campus Provost Office, Dean of Students Office and the Student Government Association. Volunteer support has been provided by the SALSA student group.

Film: Zoot Suit. “A kind of musical accompanying the story of the early 1940’s and the effect that the “zoot suit” (a man’s suit of long jacket and pegged pants, always worn with a long keychain that looped almost to the ankle…. the rebellious fashion of young men) had on the morals and attitudes of the people of that era,” from

Wednesday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. in AA-196
Professor Jim Baer will present on Illegal Immigration in Latin America. This will last approximately one hour.

Tuesday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Bolivian Dance Troupe will be performing. Food will be available at this event.
