The C-SPAN Campaign 2012 Bus Tour made a stop at NOVA’s Annandale Campus on Friday, September 28, to speak with students about the upcoming presidential election and display its programming and resources.
Aboard the Campaign 2012 Bus, students, faculty and staff learned about C-SPAN’s offerings that included videos of candidates and campaign events, information on key state races, the Electoral College and ways to follow social media related to the campaign. Visitors also learned about C-SPAN’s in-depth public affairs event coverage, and Web offerings, including archived video going back to 1987 through C-SPAN’s vast Video Library and Congressional Chronicle.
Students were also given the opportunity to share their thoughts on the presidential campaign and the issues most important to them in this election cycle. Their responses were captured in 15 second videos and uploaded onto various C-SPAN social media platforms.
The visit was part of a four-day tour to colleges and universities throughout the state of Virginia. Other stops included Hollins University, Western Community College, Norfolk State University, Christopher Newport University, University of Mary Washington and George Mason University.
