Loudoun Participates in College Bound Event

Kimberly Heck, disabilities counselor/instructor for the Loudoun Campus, gave a presentation to 67 parents and students at Loudoun County Public School’s College Bound event.

Heck’s presentation was titled “Keys to College Success.” She offered information on registering for disability support services and tips for a successful first semester in college.

“Reaching out to families with information regarding disabilities service at the college level as well as offering suggestions for a strong start in college is my passion,” said Heck.

The event received positive feedback on the evaluation cards they received.

“Students and parents alike were pleased with what they learned,” said Mary Young, transition counseling teacher at Loudoun County Public Schools.

In 2015, Young and the College Bound Committee are looking for ways to expand their relationship with NOVA.
