The Liberal Arts Division at the Alexandria Campus is on the way to making NOVA’s first film. This could be the start of several films. Conceived by Dr. Jimmie McClellan, the first film will feature Gabriel Prosser’s Slave Rebellion.
In 1800, Gabriel Prosser, a slave of Thomas Prosser, organized a very elaborate plot to free the slaves in Virginia, starting in Richmond. The plot was mainly derailed because of extreme weather conditions; heavy rains caused Brook Bridge to flood in Richmond.
