NOVA’s women’s volleyball team advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 20 Division II championship game, but fell 3-0 to the reigning champions, Hagerstown Community College.
NOVA advanced to the title game with a 3-0 victory over Frederick Community College (25-18, 25-21 and 27-25) in the semifinals.
“We had a great season and have much to be proud of,” said NOVA Head Coach Marcus Robinson. “Advancing to the championship in only our second season is quite an achievement.”
NOVA wraps up the season with a program best record of 30-10.
The NJCAA Region 20 championship appearance was the first for any NOVA athletic team. NOVA is in the second season of NJCAA membership and eligible for post-season honors.
