NOVA Hospitality Students Attend Industry Show in New YorkOn November 8, Professor DeQuan Smith accompanied 13 hospitality management students to New York City to attend the International Hotel, Motel and Restaurant Show, one of the largest exhibitions in the hospitality industry. At this event, students seized the opportunity to learn about the newest technological inventions being implemented in the industry, as well as the most innovative products set to hit the market in the near future. During the show, NOVA hospitality students met with Anthony Melchiorri from “Hotel Impossible” and discussed his tenure in the television business and hotel industry.

A special thanks to co-advisor and professor, Mark Stillions, for his constant support, hard work and commitment to the students, HRI Program, and the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality. Stillions also assisted in the planning and execution of an earlier trip to Atlanta, Ga.

The organizers hope that these trips are not only rewarding to NOVA students, but also that they build a bond between industry and student success in NOVA’s Hospitality Management Program.
