The Intersection of Art and Science

Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) and the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) faculty learning community invites you to an exhibition where art and science intersect. Offered as Supervised Study 299: The Creative Mind, the course is managed by a team of NOVA faculty who are interested in exploring the connections between STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and the arts (drawing, painting, music, dance, photography, film and theater), and who want to see the STEAM concept grow at NOVA.

The STEAM team includes: Diane Mucci (LO), Gillian Backus (LO), Cindy Miller (CS, CETL) and Beverly Pittman (AN).

Six talented honors students have been working with a pair of faculty mentors, one from an art/humanities discipline and one from a science discipline.

The culmination of their collaboration will be on exhibit in CG 218 on the Annandale Campus December 16 to 17 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  For more information please attend the Power Up Your Pedagogy (PUP) presentation in January.
