NOVA announced the launch of a mobile safety app that will provide students, faculty and staff with a new way to get in touch with College law enforcement authorities. LiveSafe helps build safer campuses by providing a fast and efficient channel of communication between members of the NOVA community and campus safety officials. As part of NOVA’s commitment to the safety and well-being of its community, the app is being provided as a free download to students, faculty, staff, parents and community members.
“Our goal is to provide the entire NOVA community with the best tools to keep everyone safe and informed. We are excited to introduce this new channel of communication that will go a long way to enhancing student and community safety,” said Chief Daniel Dusseau.
Leveraging the latest in smartphone technology, LiveSafe is transforming the way people respond to threats and safety emergencies. The app’s user-friendly interface makes it easy for people to share information anonymously, if they wish. By providing access to the latest safety information, NOVA hopes to empower the entire College community with tools to keep themselves and the College safe.
LiveSafe allows members of the community to contact the College Police Department discreetly and risk free. Available on iPhone and Android devices, users will have the ability to report GPS-tagged information and add pictures, videos and audio clips. Additionally, campus authorities are able to provide critical safety information to the College community.
Members of the College community, including students, staff, faculty and parents, are encouraged to download the free app through the iTunes or Google Play stores for their iPhone and Android devices. Type in “LiveSafe” and download the app with the blue shield today.
