NOVA’s Alumni Federation Board of Governors announced the winners of the 2013-2014 Faculty of the Year awards at their annual reception on April 11 in the Richard J. Ernst Community Cultural Center Forum.
Executive Vice President Mel D. Schiavelli gave opening remarks to the over 200 faculty, staff and students who attended the exciting reception. Each nominee was presented with a certificate signed by President Robert G. Templin, Jr., and the winners from each campus received an engraved Jefferson Cup.
Only alumni and current students may nominate faculty members for this award. The Alumni Federation Faculty of the Year Committee made the selections based on the written essays from the student and alumni nominators.
The 2014 winners are Andrew B. Bowen (AL; Spanish), Dr. Walerian Majewski (AN; Physics), Johanna M. Debrecht (LO; Calculus), Dr. Jean Goodine (MA; English), Dr. Megan Cook (MEC; Occupational Therapy Assistant) and Charles P. Taylor (WO; Contracting).
The 2013-2014 Adjunct Faculty of the Year winners are Abdullah Daouk (Arabic), Doriann Hildreth-Fischer (Physical Therapy) and Timothy Hudenburg (History).
