For the second consecutive year, NOVA massage therapy students provided post-event massages after the Marine Corps Marathon.

Woodbridge Campus massage therapy students gave more than 600 post-race massages to appreciative runners at the 39th Annual Marine Corps Marathon on October 26.

As part of the program’s internship, 28 massage students practiced sport massage techniques under the supervision of Instructor Jennifer Sovine, Program Head Nancy Crippen and alumna Sharon Fussell. Program alumni Heather Labe and James Fussell also volunteered to help with event management.

Exhausted and sore runners enthusiastically praised the students’ massage skills and students honed their sport massage techniques working for seven hours on an unusually hot day.
