The 10th Annual Power Up Your Pedagogy (PUP) Conference is open for registration. All faculty and professional staff are cordially invited to the conference on January 7 and 8, 2015, on the Annandale Campus.
PUP is an exciting, award-winning, professional development conference that brings all NOVA faculty together. The conference is for faculty and by faculty. Conference attendees will learn invaluable new insights about best teaching practices and tips.
Conference participants may attend as many as five sessions selecting from more than 70 interactive breakout sessions including 10 two-hour workshops and an expanded poster session.
Three important addresses will be featured:
- Executive Vice President Mel Schiavelli will introduce the conference.
- President Robert G. Templin, Jr., will address the faculty.
- José Antonio Bowen will give the second day plenary talk. Bowen is the president of Goucher College and wrote “Teaching Naked.” He will shake up ideas about the classroom.
A Vendor Fair with representatives of companies dedicated to supporting education will be held in the CE Forum.
The PUP lounge – around the fireplace on the CE Forum stage – will also be available for attendees to chat about their learning.
PUP has an important commitment to sustainability. You will be able to choose how you want to receive your program: in a printed format or electronically through an Apple or Google app. As soon as the program is finalized, you will be able to print your individual conference schedule through the Conference Event Planner. We will keep you posted.
A complimentary lunch is available only for pre-registered attendees. Walk-in registrations are certainly welcome; however, to plan for meal quantities, only people who pre-register will be counted in the lunch totals. Alternative meal venues are available in the CA and CF buildings for people who do not pre-register.
