In recognition of Alcohol Awareness Week, Marcus Engel, author of “The Other End of the Stethoscope,” spoke at the Medical Education Campus October 29.
After being blinded and suffering catastrophic injuries because of a drunk driver, Engel witnessed health care from the patient end of the stethoscope. Through 300 hours of reconstructive facial surgery and years of hospitalization, rehab and recovery, Engel experienced “the good, the bad and the ugly” of patient care.
He inspires audiences nationwide with his extraordinary story of recovery and challenges individuals to achieve success by making intelligent choices.
Engel’s presentation is available from NOVA TV Center on Video On Demand.
