Nineteen principals from the Changping District of Beijing visited the Manassas Campus December 15 to learn about American community colleges. Provost Roger Ramsammy welcomed the guests and NOVA Board Member Hong Xu provided an overview of the United States academic system.

After a campus tour, the delegation visited several Manassas Park schools where they had discussions with Superintendent Bruce McDade and the schools’ principals.

Dean of Academic Administration Heidi Adamson, was instrumental in bringing the delegation to NOVA. Over the past 10 years, Adamson has organized more than 27 similar visits with international organizations.

While in the United States, the Chinese principals visited public schools at several different school districts in California.

Special thanks to Jenni Barlet and Cindy Klink from the Enrollment and Administration Office for organizing the visit’s logistics.
