The Alexandria Campus will present the first Lyceum Series event of the spring semester February 11 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Bisdorf Building, Room AA-158 on the Alexandria Campus. The event is free and open to all.
Dr. Zubair Meenai is a Fulbright Scholar in Residence, visiting NOVA and George Mason University this semester from Jamia Millia Islamia, a university in New Delhi, India.
He will be talking with us about a field he has worked extensively in:
“India’s Experience with Public Health Programmes: A Case Study of Polio Eradication in Western Uttar Pradesh.”
At Jamia Millia Islamia, Meenai has served as a professor at the UGC Centre of Advanced Study in the Department of Social Work since 2006, director of the Centre for Early Childhood Development and Research since 2010, and the coordinator of the Research and Resource Unit on Social Work with Minorities at the UGC Centre of Advanced Study in Social Work since 2010. He also served as the head of the UGC Centre of Advanced Study of the Department of Social Work at Jamia Millia Islamia from 2010 to 2013 and project director of the UNICEF-supported “Project on Advocacy and Networking for Health among Under Served” in Western Uttar Pradesh from 2003 to 2013.
