On February 7, Chef Mike Herbert, assisted by NOVA culinary student Raymond Randall, conducted a presentation of gourmet hot chocolates for the fifth annual Chocolate Extravaganza in Warrenton, Virginia.
Herbert started with salted peanut butter hot chocolate and proceeded to red velvet hot cocoa with cream cheese whipped cream. As the guests savored these delicacies, Herbert then prepared pumpkin white hot chocolate with Kahlua. A mint white hot chocolate and a peppermint dark hot chocolate rounded out this production of unique winter beverages.
One guest in attendance remarked, “I will never look at hot chocolate the same after this.”
Besides Herbert’s presentation, the event featured donated chocolate delights from local restaurants and bakeries, a silent auction, and chocolate tastings. Ed and Carol Hamann host this event in memory of their daughter Jenna, who lost her battle with cancer years ago, as part of the 4Jenna Relay for Life Team. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
