NOVA’s Manassas Global Learning Center was named “Innovative Practice/Partnership of the Year” at the Prince William Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Business Awards. The prestigious award ceremony was held February 25 at the Hylton Performing Arts Center with community leaders, educators and government officials in attendance.
In 2013 Provost Roger Ramsammy had a vision for the center to strategically impact the area’s rapidly changing demographics and engage the community in a more innovative approach. Located in a local mall, NOVA’s Manassas Global Learning Center conducts workshops, information sessions and one-on-one visits with community members interested in learning about education and other pertinent resources. The center is under the leadership of Ramsammy, Dr. Judith James and Campus and Community Relations Specialist Ramunda Young with a newly created advisory board consisting of faith leaders, area entrepreneurs, nonprofit representatives and others dedicated to improving the well-being of Prince William County’s diverse population.
