On February 23, the Annandale Languages and Literature Division hosted a teacher training event for 15 Arabic instructors from Morocco and Oman as part of the Critical Language Scholarship Program supported by the U.S. State Department and run by the American Councils for International Education.
The delegation was greeted by World Languages Assistant Dean Ana Alonso and the Division’s Interim Associate Dean Jennifer Daniels.
Kamal Hadine graciously permitted the instructors and two interpreters to observe his Arabic 101 class. The instructors then received an overview of the Language Center from Coordinator Brian Adler. Afterward, they had coffee and conversation with Sana Hilmi, Hadine and Arabic tutor Alia Ali before heading to Williamsburg for the next part of their training.
