NAMI “In Our Own Voice” at Woodbridge

NAMI “In Our Own Voice” at Woodbridge The Woodbridge Campus Psychology Interest Group and Psychology Department welcomed the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) “In Our Own Voice” presentation on March 31.

Students were captivated by the personal struggles of those suffering with mental illness as well as learning about a variety of community resources. This was the second time this presentation was delivered. Nearly 70 students attended the event organized by Assistant Professor Megan Davies.

A special “thank you” to all who attended and to special guests Michelle Zahn, NAMI Prince William County’s “In Our Own Voice” coordinator; Kevin Green, Trillium Drop-In Center employee; Cynthia Dudley, Trillium Drop-In Center executive director; Monica Chenault, NOVACares program manager; and James A. Custodio, veteran peer specialist of the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program.
