Alexandria Tau Nu Chapter Goes to Phi Theta Kappa Awards

On April 22, the Alexandria Campus Tau Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society was honored during the PTK All-Virginia Academic Team Awards luncheon at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Richmond-Midlothian. Members and advisors from various chapters competed for recognition in PTK’s Hallmarks of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Fellowship. PTK is the international honor society of the two-year college and the largest honor society in the world.

Alexandria students Amanuel Eshete and Horacio Artiga received the PTK 2015-All Virginia Academic Team Awards. Eshete also received one of the Top Ten All-Virginia Academic Team awards.

Also in attendance was Virginia Community College System Chancellor Glenn Dubois and NOVA’s Acting President Mel Schiavelli, Dr. Margaret Emblon-Callahan (PTK co-advisor), Alexandria Acting Provost Ronald Buchanan and Leola Farmer (PTK advisor).
