The Alexandria Campus hosted an end-of-semester fundraiser to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and help raise money for the Helping Hands Fund. Faculty and staff gave donations for the celebratory-themed nacho and taco bar. The Campus community, including NOVA Police who provided moral support, helped raise over $500.

The primary purpose of Helping Hands is to provide assistance for book purchases for Alexandria students who demonstrate financial need. Funds are also provided for emergency expenses on a case-by-case basis. Other fundraisers in the 2015 spring semester included “Souper Bowl” and “Sweets for the Sweet.”
