The Alexandria Campus held several programs in recognition of “Patriot Day: A Day of Service and Remembrance.” The week started with a kickoff of the #NOVAOneGoodDeed campaign, held in memory of the many who died on 9/11. The Kickoff Tent, staffed by various staff from Learning Technologies Resources and special student programs, offered information about community service opportunities, as well as provided members of the Campus community the option to pledge one good deed. Pledge cards were collected and posted at the Library during the week.
The week of service, remembrance and reflection culminated with the annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on September 11. The event took place at the Bisdorf Building Courtyard at the Peace Pole. More than 70 faculty, staff, students and friends honored the men and women who lost their lives during the tragic events on September 11, 2001.
