Republican incumbent Corey A. Stewart and Democrat Richard H. “Rick” Smith III will debate October 1 in the Howsmon Lecture Hall on the Manassas Campus. The debate is being hosted by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce in partnership with NOVA.
“As one of the fastest growing localities in the Commonwealth it is important for the local business community to remain engaged in the political process. We are very excited to partner with Northern Virginia Community College to host a quality debate during this year’s highly competitive chairman of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors race,” said Prince William Chamber President and CEO Debbie Jones. “The Chamber is eager to hear the candidates’ visions for the future of Prince William County and ideas for maintaining a favorable business climate.”
Provost Roger Ramsammy is looking forward to hosting the debate at Manassas Campus. “We want to hear about the long-term strategies each candidate will convey regarding education in Prince William County,” he said. “Our county boasts two Northern Virginia Community College campuses and the chairman’s emphasis on higher education will be critical for our entire community, workforce development and beyond.”
The debate will be moderated by Krysta Nicole Jones, founder and CEO of the Virginia Leadership Institute.
