NOVA Welcomes Fall for the Book Festival Authors

NOVA Welcomes Fall for the Book Festival Authors The Annandale and Woodbridge campuses invite book lovers and readers to meet poet Chiwan Choi and playwright Sam Chanse, as part of Virginia’s anticipated book festival, Fall for the Book.

Annandale will welcome Choi and Chanse on Monday, September 28 at 12:30 p.m. in the President’s Dining Room (CE Building). Both authors will be available to interact with readers and read excerpts from their works at the Annandale Campus.

Woodbridge will also welcome them on Tuesday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Theatre (WC Building). A reception and book signing will be held in the Library Reading Room beginning at 3:00 p.m. Events are sponsored by NOVA’s Honors Program.

Choi will offer insight on his second collection of poetry, “Abductions,” as it explores the arc of his life and family through an alien abduction mythology. In what is described as a “science-fiction poetry book,” Choi said he wanted to “take a crack at the sacred place of poetry.”

Chanse will discuss her most recent work, “Lydia’s Funeral Video,” a one-woman play which has been turned into a book with illustrations.

Fall for the Book runs Sunday, September 27 through Saturday, October 3. As a week-long multi-venue affair, the festival engages readers and authors by offering opportunities to meet writers at various locations throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. All events are free and open to the public. For additional information concerning Fall for the Book, visit
