On September 24, the Manassas Campus, with collaboration from the Woodbridge Campus, held its first-ever Spanish Spelling Bee as one of the many events for Hispanic Heritage Month.
The judges were Dr. Carmen Figueroa (WO), Chaiya Ortiz (MA), Cris Sparks-Early (MA) and Lizie Mollers (MA). Students went head-to-head to test their Spanish spelling skills. Both the beginning and intermediate levels were well represented.
First place prizes went to McKenzi McCoy (beginning) and Henna Thuktral (intermediate). Second place winners were Ashleigh Fisher (beginning) and Trudi McFarland (intermediate).
The Woodbridge Campus held their Spanish Spelling Bee on October 15.
