November Is National Career Development Month

November Is National Career Development Month November is National Career Development Month. This is a great time for faculty and staff to think about what to do to help NOVA students participate in career development opportunities and navigate the workforce.

Here is how you can help:

Encourage students to use the new College Central Network (CCN) to search for jobs and internships specifically for NOVA students by local employers, access career advice and to create resumes and online portfolios.

Promote FOCUS 2 to help students learn about and select majors and occupational fields.

Schedule an appointment with a career counselor.

Attend a workshop sponsored by Career Services. Sessions are free and open to faculty, staff, students and alumni. Topics include career planning, job search, resume writing and much more.

A complete list of National Career Development Month events is available on NOVA’s Events Calendar and on College Central Network.
