The Manassas Campus hosted students from Manassas Park Middle School for their Road to College tour on October 21. A fun-filled tour started with the students receiving play money from Lisa Branson (Financial Aid) during an interactive talk about ways to fund their college career. Cari Dresser (Student Life) shared with them the interesting campus activities they can participate in. There were a few student ambassadors that spoke about their rewarding experiences at the Manassas Campus.
The students then went on an interactive tour across the Manassas Campus that included a scavenger hunt in the NOVA Library with Rebecca Leitner-Marshall, problem solving with mathematics in the Khan Academy under Bill Ruffles, an automotive safety discussion with Gary Phares while they enjoyed their lunch in the NOVA Cafeteria, dance moves with Physical Education Professor Dahlia Henry-Tett and a view of the human body in the anatomage table in the Science Lab with Geeta Jahav.
According to the students, their favorite was the problem solving in mathematics. The event was a huge success and Manassas Park Middle School is looking forward to NOVA sharing the Manassas Campus with more students in the future.
