NOVA Accepts 2016 White House Healthy Campus Challenge

NOVA Accepts 2016 White House Healthy Campus Challenge NOVA has accepted the challenge – the 2016 White House Healthy Campus Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to reach uninsured individuals at NOVA and in our greater community by engaging students, faculty, staff, alumni, local community leaders and elected officials. NOVA will undertake several enrollment best practices to increase awareness and get the word out about affordable healthcare options.

During the Health Insurance Marketplace Open Enrollment period (which began November 1 and will continue through January 31, 2017), the White House, the Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Education will focus on reaching college and university campuses and in particular community college campuses, that are participating in the Healthy Campus Challenge.

The 2016 White House Healthy Campus Challenge builds on the successful 2015 White House Healthy Communities Challenge, in which Milwaukee, the challenge winner, saw about 38,000 people newly select a plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace during the open enrollment period.
