During the week of November 14 to 18, the Alexandria Campus offered events that inspired engagement, creativity and a desire to learn. As the world grows smaller, international events that commandeer daily news programs are a constant reminder of global connectedness. The U.S. Department of Education promotes international education programs in schools, colleges and universities that build high levels of worldwide understanding and expertise. For the nation to continue to engage with other nations effectively, students must receive an international education that meets the highest standards.
International Education Week is an opportunity to experience our diverse world in all of its uniqueness. The Alexandria Campus provides the ideal setting to bring people from all backgrounds together in a peaceful learning environment.
This is the fourth year that NOVA’s Alexandria Campus has presented International Education Week. Each year the committee strives to create a week of programming that includes fun, global awareness and learning and service. This year International Education Week included the following programs: the Digital Media Contest and Gallery Walk, XBOX FIFA Tournament, KIVA Presentation, Baobab Café Series Open Mic Contest, Think Globally, Act Locally Brown Bag and Discussion, Open Your Eyes Documentary, NOVA Gives Back Food Drive and Food Preparation with for the Love of Others.
