The Manassas Campus Outreach Tutoring Program is an outreach effort to the greater Manassas community, providing a foundation of basic English for both native and non-native English speakers. Participants may receive up to one month of free tutoring and then they receive a referral to NOVA programs of study or other English language instruction providers, depending on their needs.

Modeled after a similar English Literacy Council Tutoring Program at Woodbridge Campus, Manassas began with funding from NOVA’s Educational Foundation, with subsequent support by both the Educational Foundation and campus funds allocated by the provost.

This important program provides several benefits to NOVA. These benefits include expanding access to anyone in our service area with an ability to benefit; marketing informally to members of the residential and business community who may otherwise not see NOVA as an option, increasing NOVA’s visibility and offering an on-boarding pathway and a referral service to NOVA’s programs of study.
