You are invited to NOVA’s Annual Green Festival on Tuesday, April 25 from 9:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the CE Building at the Annandale Campus.
NOVA’s Annual Green Festival increases community awareness of regional, national and global environmental issues and provides information regarding ways that individuals can help preserve the environment.
This year’s topic is “We Are All Downstream”. The program will focus on global and local water issues with a morning keynote presentation by National Geographic Fellow Sandra Postel, director and founder of the Global Water Policy Project and a world expert on freshwater issues and related ecosystems. The afternoon portion of the program will include a screening of the 2017 film “A Plastic Ocean,” which highlights the tremendous impact that plastic waste is having in the world’s oceans and offers working solutions that could be implemented immediately. Other activities include panel discussions, interactive demonstrations, green job fair, informative displays and more.
The event is free and open to the public, with open parking in all B lots and the campus garage.
