On March 31, eight students from the College Music Society student chapter at the Alexandria Campus attended the 47th College Music Society Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. The conference featured lecture-recitals, workshops and paper presentations from university professors, graduate students and scholars.
The keynote address was given by Dr. Lois Svard of Bucknell University on “What Neuroscience Can Tell Us About Studying or Teaching Music.” Students had the opportunity to meet the presenters, college music faculty, and students at other music departments. The attendees were accompanied by faculty member John Kocur (AL) and Instructional Assistant Jacob Garbus (AL). The trip was funded by Student Life with additional resources from Facilities Planning and Support.
