Robert Wade Appointed MEC Dean of Allied Health

Dr. Robert (Bob) Wade has been appointed as the interim dean of Allied Health for the Medical Education Campus (MEC).

Wade served as interim dean of nursing for a one-year term and was chosen based on his leadership abilities and vast teaching experience in the medical profession. He has over 20 years of administrative and nursing experience in both the public and private sector. As the new interim dean of Allied Health, he hopes to provide a voice for faculty members to assist in offering quality assistance for student success.

“I view my new role at the MEC as instrumental in providing continuous support to faculty in the Allied Health Division,” said Wade. “As a division, it is our main objective to ensure that each student’s needs are met. I’m truly excited about becoming more acquainted with the students, faculty and staff at the MEC.”

With assistance from faculty and staff in the nursing division, the Kentucky native said he was able to accomplish significant goals for current and potential students interested in the nursing profession. Under Wade’s leadership, the Nursing Program increased enrollment by 50 students for the 2017 fall semester.

“As the former interim dean of nursing, I was able to accomplish several very important goals, but only with the dedication and hard work from faculty and staff,” said Wade. “Serving in that capacity was a gratifying experience. I’m looking forward to continue working alongside such wonderful people at a well-equipped and state-of-the-art facility.”

Wade holds a Ph.D. in education with a specialization in leadership for higher education from Capella University; an M.S. in nursing from Bellarmine University and a B.S. in nursing from Spalding University, both located in Louisville, Kentucky.
