NOVA Portrait Project Highlights Diversity

Achieving the Dream, Student Life and the Liberal Arts Division at the Alexandria Campus helped to support the NOVA Portrait Project. The primary purpose of the NOVA Portrait Project is to showcase diversity at NOVA. The project this year focused on English as a Second Language (ESL) students at the Alexandria Campus.

John Kinney, ESL professor, made 25 photographic portraits of students from countries such as Morocco, Somalia, Ghana, China, Thailand and Nepal. Students who participated also wrote statements about their experiences at NOVA. The student portraits and their statements are now being displayed outside of Room 252 in the Bisdorf Building at the Alexandria Campus. Please come by to view portraits of our students.
