Dr. Orzetti is an aquatic biologist that specializes in fisheries ecology and their associated habitats. She has worked throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed studying the effects of landuse on the aquatic environment as well as taking part in several seagrass restoration projects. Dr. Orzetti has also done work in the Hawaiian Islands looking at the effects of water diversion on native stream fish, snails, and freshwater shrimp. Prior to working at Northern Virginia Community College, Dr. Orzetti was a Fish and Wildlife Biologist with the District of Columbia, and Senior Scientist with Ecosystem Solutions, Inc. She is still an Adjunct Professor with George Mason University in the Environmental Science and Policy Department.
