Melissa Chabot

Instructor of Communication Studies

Hello and welcome to my webpage! This page was designed with communication studies students in my classes at Northern Virginia Community College in mind, but all are welcome.

I started teaching at NVCC in fall 2013, and I have been teaching communication courses since 2003. I absolutely love the communication discipline and I love teaching students. NVCC is particularly amazing because we have students from over 130  different countries. When this diverse group of students takes a public speaking class, there are many opportunities to share experiences and interests. We learn so much from each other. And it’s amazing.

When I’m not on campus, I can be found doing something outdoorsy with my family. My husband, Kevin, is a communication professor at GMU, and my son, Hal, is a 2 year old toddler. We also live with three very spoiled kitties.
