Bio

A proud product of Fairfax County Public Schools and graduate of Mt. Vernon High School, Prof. Davis took her first Spanish class in eighth grade and has been studying the language, literature and culture ever since. She graduated from the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Spanish and Government and spent a semester at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain. She earned a master’s degree in Spanish from Loyola University of Chicago and a doctorate in Spanish Literature from Catholic University of America. The title of her doctoral dissertation is Ad/Dressing Modernism in Emilia Pardo Bazán’s Later Short Stories (1901-1921). She also completed graduate coursework in Guadalajara, Mexico with Middlebury College. Prof. Davis currently serves on the PTA Executive Board of her daughters’ dual language elementary school in Alexandria City.

At NOVA, Prof. Davis teaches all levels of Spanish, from SPA 101, 102, 115, 201 and 202 to SPA 205 and 206.
