Naval Branch Health Clinic Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is hiring Occupational Medicine Physicians!

Are you passionate about patient care? If so, consider joining our team! As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will enhance the health of workers through preventive medicine, clinical care, disability management, research, and education. Our team of professionals has expertise in determining the ability of employees to perform work; the arrangements of work, the physical, chemical, biological, and social environments of the workplace, and the health outcomes of environmental exposures.

Naval Branch Health (BHC) Clinic Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) is located aboard the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, the Pacific Northwest’s largest Naval shore facility and one of Washington State’s largest industrial installations. The clinic serves a nearly exclusive Occupational Health (OH) mission for a shipyard population of over 14,500 Department of Defense civilian employees. Clinic staff is comprised of OEM physicians, physician assistants, OH nurses, radiation health specialists, occupational audiologists, an optometrist, a physical therapist, a multitude of technicians and other ancillary and support staff.

BHC PSNS includes a Medical Surveillance Clinic that administers pre-placement evaluations for a wide-variety of industrial positions (e.g., welder, painter/blaster, shipfitter, pipefitter, machinery mechanic, etc.); medical surveillance examinations for over 70 potential worksite exposures (e.g., noise, heat, vibration, ionizing radiation, asbestos, lead, cadmium, etc.); and certification examinations for a variety of jobs (e.g., respirator user, forklift operator, Department of Transportation commercial motor vehicle operator, etc.). BHC PSNS also encompasses an Employee Health Clinic which provides evaluation and treatment of acute minor occupational injury and illness, fitness for duty evaluations, and management of return-to-work issues including work limitations and reasonable accommodations.

BHC PSNS works directly with the shipyard and other tenant commands including the local Injury Compensation Program Administrator (ICPA) for assistance with Office of Workers’ Compensation Program (OWCP) claims as well as the PSNS Injured Workers Program (IWP) Coordinator for management of injured workers and reasonable accommodations requests. The clinic also works routinely with NHB Industrial Hygiene and shipyard Safety personnel to review and evaluate the industrial worksite environment and activities.

We a short ferry ride from downtown Seattle.
