MEC NOVA TRANSFER TALK

The programs the Medical Education Campus offers are Associate of Applied Science degrees (AAS).  According to the NOVA College Catalog, “Transfer is NOT the primary purpose of an AAS, but NOVA has articulation agreements that facilitate the transfer of this and other career – oriented programs to selected senior institutions.”
So, although transfer is not the main focus of MEC programs, there are opportunities for MEC students to transfer after obtaining their AAS degree.

It is important to be aware of these opportunities so you, as an MEC student, can make the best choices about your education. Here are some examples:
  • AAS RN to BSN
  • Allied Health degrees to BS Health Science
  • AAS Dental hygiene to  BS Dental Hygiene
  • AAS OTA to BS OTA
Speak with your faculty advisor, visit the NOVA transfer site, or contact your school of interest to research potential transfer options in your career area.  Also, stop by transfer tables and speak with school representatives when they visit MEC.  This will help you make good course choices now, to make transfer attainable in the future.
