Service Description

Looking for some between-class, impromptu support?  Join MEC’s Tutoring Services Academic Coach, Emily Miller, in MEC’s Library (HE 341).  Surrounded by a wealth of information and variety of resources, you can meet with our academic coach without reservation.  The academic coach is there to listen to your concerns, obstacles, and interests and provide academic coaching for long term success.  This service is offered in-person within the campus library.  Common topics include the following:

  • Metacognition and Learning
  • Active Learning Strategies
  • Professional Communication – Verbal
  • Professional Communication – Writing
  • Academic Writing in Health Sciences and Nursing
  • Test Anxiety
  • Time Management
  • Effective Study Groups
  • Managing Work/Life Balance
  • Procrastination
