The Northern Virginia Soil & Water Conservation District is offering an internship opportunity 1-2 days per week through the spring semester. The intern’s job responsibilities will include assisting with new website outreach, volunteer programs, the newsletter and other communications with the public. Community College STEM Scholarship 2012-2013

Virginia Space Grant Consortium Announces (VSGC) 2012–2013 Scholarship and Fellowship Opportunities! Visit http://www.vsgc.odu.edu for more info.  VSGC awards over $325,000 in scholarships and fellowships to students attending Virginia Space Grant member institutions and majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) field. Research proposals from students majoring in any STEM field and working on a project that supports NASA’s mission are welcomed.  VSGC can assist students and faculty in identifying research projects and connecting to NASA.  The Community College STEM Scholarship Program provides $2,000 scholarships to students attending any Virginia Community College and majoring in STEM.

Mid-Atlantic Geospatial Transportation Users Group Meeting

As part of the Mid-Atlantic Geographic Transportation Users Group (MAGTUG) meeting on Wednesday 11/02/2011 in Smyrna Delaware, hosted by the Delaware DOT, Silvana Croope and Simon Lewis are organizing an event on Transportation and Emergency Management.  Speakers from 4 states (NJ, PA, MD, and DE) are scheduled.  Sponsors include ESRI, TRB-ABE40, and ITE-MASITE.  There is a chance there may be a webcast for folks who are not able to travel.  Additional information is available at http://magtug.wordpress.com.
