DC Meet Up November 7th


Come to our next DC Meet Up on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the District Architecture Center. Discover how maps are being used throughout Congress to help elected officials communicate with those they represent and to better understand the impacts of policy. The featured speaker will be Tim Petty, deputy legislative director for Senator James Risch. Find out how and why ArcGIS Online is being used by Congress, other federal agencies, and the public, and enjoy some good old-fashioned networking.


5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Meet fellow DC metro area GIS and developer professionals   while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages.
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Did You Know Congress Uses GIS?
Petty will talk about bringing mapping and GIS to the US Congress and will be   joined by other guest speakers describing their use of the latest ArcGIS   mapping tools.

Start Up Spotlight
POPVOX CEO and Founder, Marci Harris, will demonstrate their nonpartisan   advocacy platform meshing real-time legislative data with personal stories and   sentiment in a format optimized for Congress.

7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Mingle a little longer with fellow attendees.
