GIS 0280: Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
As an introduction to Python and the arcpy geoprocessing module, GIS 0280 covers basic python syntax, control statements, and the arcpy geoprocessing module, using ArcGIS Model Builder to build syntax, definition functions, handling exceptions and Python. Toolboxes will be discussed. During this three day course, students will learn how to create python scripts for automation, through classroom discussion and demonstrations, including guided and practical exercises. Extensive knowledge of ArcGIS is required (with experience working with Model Builder).
Prerequisite is GIS 0110.
