Sign Up For Fall STEMinars!
STEMinars are short workshops on STEM topics for elementary through adult learners. The first series of STEMinars are for our younger STEM students to explore STEM through an iPAD and LEGO EV3 or OSMO kits. We have multiple STEMinars coming up, including two sessions with PWC Libraries:
• 11/5 – Chinn Park Library EV3 at 2:00 pm.
• 11/8 – Bull Run Library OSMO at 4:30 pm.

We also have STEMinars on creating laser engraved projects that are coming to the Alexandria, Loudoun and Manassas campuses this fall. Join one of our 3 hour workshops to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator and a Laser Cutter/Engraver.
October: Laser Engraving with Heat Transfer Film. Learn how to put your name on the back of a shirt, create a custom logo or customize a kitchen towel.

November: Laser Engraving with Acrylic. This Thanksgiving create your own custom engraved place settings, a personalized keychain or ornament.

December: Laser Engraving with Wood or Glass. Create a wood cutout to save the date, make a custom prom invitation or transfer your favorite photo to wood.

NOVA STEM Day at the Loudoun Campus is for EVERYONE! From kindergarten to high school and beyond, we have fun and educational workshops and exhibits for the whole family. With more activities than you can count, we’re about DOING. Come ready to participate!
This event is open to the public and includes a variety of physical and hands-on activities. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is responsible for providing appropriate supervision.

NOVA SySTEMic is starting NEW VEX IQ Robotics Teams!
We’re establishing community-based VEX IQ teams for the 2018-2019 school year in Manassas, Alexandria, and Loudoun! These new teams will compete in the VEX IQ Challenge: Next Level.
Weekly meetings will be on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and about one Saturday per month. If you are interested in having your child participate on a team, please complete the interest survey linked below and attend an interest meeting in Manassas, Loudoun or Alexandria on Aug 21, 22 or 23. Why Competitive Robotics?
Students who participate in VEX robotics demonstrate both technical and soft skills, which are essential to all STEM careers. They benefit from opportunities to develop critical thinking and time management skills in a collaborative hands-on setting that requires teamwork and communication.
Free Training for Coaches, Mentors, Referees and Judges
