Did you know that NOVA has an Associate of Science Degree in Biology? Well, consider yourself lucky, because it does! If you are planning on transferring to George Mason University, it is most efficient if you take both Zoology and Botany in lieu of Biology 101 & 102. This is because when you transfer, you’ll need to satisfy a biodiversity requirement. By taking Zoology and Botany, you satisfy this requirement AND get 4 science elective credits.
Zoology is a class that focuses on the biology, classification, evolution, identification, and ecology of animals. We have two field trips: The Smithsonian Environmental Research Center and Huntley Meadows Park. Additionally, we head outside regularly to observe wildlife. During lab, we examine both the external and internal anatomy of animals. I hope you join me!
