GENERATION HOPE SCHOLAR’S PROGRAM FOR PREGNANT & PARENTING TEENS. APPLY BY MAY 1 , 2023
Generation Hope is still seeking applicants for its scholar’s program. They alerted us they have received significantly fewer applications from NOVA students this year than in past years. If you know a NOVA student who (1) became pregnant or was parenting under the age of 19 (any gender), and (2) is currently 25 years old or under, please encourage them to apply for Generation Hope’s Scholar Program. Generation Hope also offers direct services to students through their Scholar Program and provides wrap-around services to assist teen parents in meeting their academic goals. NOVA has been working with Generation Hope to advance student-parent success across our six campuses as part of the FamilyU Cohort.
Generation Hope Scholars receive a scholarship of up to $2400/year, a mentor dedicated to their success, access to free mental health support, tutoring, and career coaching, access to an emergency fund, and become part of a community of other teen parents. Some of these resources are also extended to Scholars’ children, including early literacy and childcare support.
U.S. citizens, permanent legal residents, and DACA recipients are eligible for the Generation Hope Scholars Program.
Questions in English or Spanish can be directed to the Scholar Recruitment Coordinator, Madeline Hren (she/her) at madeline@generationhope.org or (202) 642-4325. For more information about eligibility or program expectations direct a potential student Scholar to generationhope.org/scholar-program. Applications are due May 1, 2023.
