EPA Section 608 Technician Certification

EPA Technician

HVAC technology is becoming an increasingly popular profession with many in-demand jobs waiting to be filled.

The new NOVA Workforce EPA Section 608 Technician Certification provides essential knowledge for developing skills fundamental to working with residential and commercial systems. You will learn the basics of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems, including tools, fasteners, tubing, copper, soldering/brazing, thermodynamic principles, the relationship of temperature and pressure, system components, refrigerants, service procedures (recovery/recycling, evacuation, leak detection, charging), metering devices, basic troubleshooting, controls, and compressors. After completing the course, students will have the opportunity to test and obtain the EPA Section 608 Technician Certification.

New Program! Massage Therapy

Therapeutic Massage is a 500-hour course that will instruct students in the field of massage therapy. Topics include but are
not limited to the history of massage, client-therapist relationship,
draping techniques and procedures, business development, ethics,
Western massage modalities, aromatherapy, the indications, and
contra-indications for massage. Students will also have on-the-job
experiential learning in our newly built state-of-the-art Spa Skills
Lab, where you will learn how to work in a fast-paced environment
and provide effective treatment for each individual client. Massage
Lab clients will consist of NOVA faculty, staff, and students, as well
as members of local communities.
