Workforce Development Division offers New Real Estate Finance Online Course

The Workforce Development Division is proud to announce a new and exclusive online web series, Mortgage Banking Bound, presented by Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), the national association which represents the entire real estate finance industry. Mortgage Banking Bound is designed to complement a student’s current coursework at NOVA and provide access to the world of the real estate finance industry and the possible career opportunities it presents.

Students interested in participating in Mortgage Banking Bound will gain knowledge of mortgage lending by industry experts, have access to MBA member-only benefits, networking opportunities with MBA’s leading member companies and professionals as well as explore industry careers. Upon completing the Mortgage Banking Bound curriculum, individuals will receive a certificate of completion presented by the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) as well as an MBA Student membership.

New Online Course Offerings

Ed2go Online Courses are back! Update your skills, discover a new talent, or chart a career path at your own pace and at your own convenience with our instructor-led online courses. Each course runs for six weeks and consists of 12 lessons. The lessons are supplemented by interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and online discussion areas. Workforce Development Division to Host Leadercast 2014

On May 9, 2014 the Workforce Development Division will host Leadercast 2014.  This event will feature internationally recognized leadership experts including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Laura Bush, Bill McDermott, Laura Schroff, and Malcolm Gladwell among a host of others high profile knowledge leaders.

This high powered event reaches over 100,000 leaders in 14 countries around the world.  Now in its 15th year, this full-day experiential conference is on track to reach its largest audience to date. This year’s theme -“Beyond You” – challenges leaders to focus outward rather than inward.  NOVA is pleased to bring this global learning opportunity to the Northern Virginia business community.

Workforce Industry Learning Series Returns

You are invited to attend the next installment of the Workforce Industry Learning Series titled;

Northern Virginia’s Workforce Outlook: Future Workforce Development Challenges

Hosted by: Northern Virginia Community College’s Workforce Development Division

Dr. Stephen Fuller, Ph.D., a renowned Regional and International Economist, will give a presentation titled “Northern Virginia’s Workforce Outlook: Future Workforce Development Challenges”. During his presentation he will share his research findings and give attendees a glimpse into Northern Virginia’s economic future. Dr. Fuller will also focus on the changing job market and its occupational implications.

At the end of the presentation attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Fuller and a panel of local business leaders questions regarding this important Northern Virginia economic topic.
