The Workforce Development Division celebrated the achievements of eight graduates from the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate Program at the Manassas Campus.

NOVA’s TESOL Certificate Program prepares individuals to teach English as a second language through language acquisition theory and practical application. Graduates are qualified to teach English as a second language to adults in adult education settings, community-based programs or at proprietary schools in the U.S. or abroad.

Thanks to the partnership with Fairfax County Adult ESOL and Prince William County Adult ESOL, some graduates have already gained local employment. Other graduates are teaching English in Italy, France, Brazil and Kyrgyzstan.
