Emergency Food Assistance
Assists low income Arlington residents under the age of 60 who cannot meet their basic needs. A social worker reviews the clients situation with the client. Types of services provided include:

  • Assistance with financial difficulty in paying rent, utilities, obtaining food, medical care, prescription medication, dental needs, transportation, eyeglasses and clothing
  • Assistance with emotional and domestic issues
  • Assistance to individuals and families facing homelessness with finding shelter while working on securing permanent housing
  • Walk-in clients are accepted at Community Assistance Bureau

Contents of our food bags include cereal, canned vegetables, canned fruit, meat or tuna, pasta, pasta sauce or tomato products, macaroni and cheese, rice, and beans. Participants are also offered a choice of finely ground corn flour for making tortillas or vegetable oil.

Food for Others
Emergency Referral Program – Free emergency food is provided to individuals and families referred to Food for Others by social service providers – social workers, clergy, hospitals, and schools.
USDA TEFAP monthly program – The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides monthly food to those clients meeting income guidelines. If you are a Northern Virginia resident you may walk in and apply. Bring a photo ID and if it does not have your current address on it, please bring in a lease or a piece of mail addressed to you.

is a multi-faith emergency food pantry. We provide nutritious food, personal supplies and other services to those in need in Dulles South and the surrounding area regardless of income, faith or other criteria and strive to promote self-sufficiency.

The Dulles South Food Pantry serves all residents of Loudoun County who live within the school boundaries of Freedom High School, John Champe High School or Brambleton Middle School/future Independence High School. Eligible guests may visit the pantry up to twice a month.
