.Center for Economic Support (CES)
Medicaid provides payments to doctors and medical service providers for services rendered to eligible individuals. Eligibility is determined through an evaluation that compares the individual’s personal circumstances, including income and assets, to an established standard. CES also provides vouchers as a form of prescription assistance on a one-time-only basis. If someone does not qualify, then referrals to the local Health Department or various other prescription assistance programs are also available.

Dental Clinic Screening and Referral
Eligibility screening and referrals to the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic for adults with low-income who have no dental insurance. Covers most dental services. FAMIS (Family Access to Medical Insurance Security) for Children
Provides medical insurance for children under age 19 who have low-income. Medical insurance for children under age 19 consist of two programs:

  • FAMIS, which provides medical coverage for uninsured and low-income children
  • FAMIS Plus, which provides medical coverage for low-income children who may have other health care coverage.

Fairfax County

Dental Service for Children
To assist the residents of Fairfax County by providing dental services to children whose families are income eligible and/or to whom treatment is not available in the private sector.
The Fairfax County Health Department has three Dental clinics in the County that provide services to children only:

The Fairfax County Community Health Care Network (CHCN) is a partnership of health professionals, physicians, hospitals and local government. CHCN was formed to provide primary health services for low income, uninsured residents of Fairfax County and the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, who cannot afford primary medical care services for themselves and their families.

Prescription Drug, Health & Dental Discount Card Program
The county is able to offer three programs to residents. The program provides savings of up to 75 percent on prescriptions and 15 to 50 percent on health and dental services.
